GB4122 stipulates 28 terms of packaging technology and method. The commonly used 10 terms are summarized as follows:
1. Vacuum package
A packing method in which the product is loaded into an airtight packing container and the air inside the container is pumped out so as achieve a predetermined vacuum degree in the sealed container.
2. Gas packing
A packing method in which the product is loaded in to a gas-tight packaging container and the original air in the container is replaced by nitrogen, carbon dioxide and other gases.
3. Aseptic packaging
A method of packing products, packaging containers, materials, or packaging AIDS by filling and sealing them in a sterile encironment after sterilization.
4. Water-proof packing
A package for which protective measures are taken to prevent the product quality from being affected by water immersion in the package. If use waterproof material liner or brush waterproof material on the outside of the packaging container.
5. Damp-proof packing
Packaging in order to prevent moisture immersion in the packaging and affect the quality of products to take certain protective measures. If sealing products with moisture-proof packaging materials, the specific provisions can be specified in GB 5048”moisture-proof packaging”.
6. Rustproof packaging
To prevent product corrosion and take certain protective measures of packaging. Specific measures can be implemented in accordance with GB 4879 “anti-rust packaging”provisions.
7. Shockproof packing
Packaging that takes certain protective measures to mitigate the impact and vibration of the product and protect it from damage. If use foaming polystyrene, sponge to wait for buffering material to wrap a product, or the product suspends in wrapping container with spring.
8. Anti-mold packaging
In order to prevent the product from mildew and affect its quality and take certain protective measures of packaging, specific measures can be in accordance with GB4768 “mildew proof packaging technical requirements” standard provisions.
9. Explosion-proof packaging
To prevent the explosion of explosive products and take certain protective measures of packaging.
10. Fresh-keeping packaging
Under the stipulated storage conditions, the food such as fruits and vegetables shall be packed in cans with packaging materials with special properties or containers with special structures, or such food for a certain period of time and take certain protective measures.
